Sunday morning i woke up at 3:55am to prepare for my 12 miles of "ROAD WORK".
For those of you who don't know, I'm training for a marathon in February & I like to call my runs
"ROAD WORK".
I have been running for a few years, but this year I've become much more serious about it.
Many of you may know, I am not a technology girl. I don't have an ipod or any musical device while I
run. I used to think of all negative stuff while running, such as: how much money i owe people, how
much i hate my job and so on.
Needless to say, that made for a long run mentally! So i switched it up.
I now do a whole lot of positive thinking while I run! I create jewelry in my head & when i get home i
already know what I need to make it. I also enjoy the beautiful nature & brainstorm about what I'm
gonna write next on this blog.
So as I was doing my 12 miles, the word that kept coming to mind were HARD WORK/
DEDICATION.
Now i know i must be dedicated to get up at the crazy hour of 4am to run, but i was focusing on other
dedicated people in my life.
My mom (the late Darnel Palmer) was a dedicated wife & mother. She was always teaching us
something even if we didn't know it. Her legacy is one of beauty & I'm so glad to be a part of it!
Now let's talk about her other half, my dad (Fred Palmer). If there are any words to describe a person,
HARD WORK/DEDICATION would definitely describe my dad! He always went to work on time &
gave 100%. Now that I'm grown, I really appreciate & understand the overtime hours & love my dad
put in to put food on the table, clothes on our backs, and the opportunity to go on some really fun
family vacations.
My dad is now retired from his full-time job, but he definitely didn't retire his HARD WORK &
DEDICATION! He is always there for anyone in need & willing to give a helping hand at a moments
notice!
So i say to you... Find something of interest, learn to love it, work hard at it & be dedicated!
NEVER QUIT! LOSING IS NOT AN OPTION!

knitting a friendship (2011)
Today, Dec 7, 2011, I boarded the plane to return to my current home in Florida.
Being that I had a fabulous time in PA visiting my family & friends, my emotions were running wild.
I didn't have an assigned seat on the plane & being almost last to board, seating was limited.
As I walked down the aisle, I passed a few seats before I found a comfy spot next to a young woman.
I had a paper bag filled with my knitting supplies with me.
No sooner I sat down, Missy, the young woman in the seat next to me says, "oh my gosh, you knit?"
I explained how I just learned about a week ago & only knew how to do the basic stitch.
Long story short...
Missy taught me a new stitch pattern & how to cast off.
In our 2 hour flight, I learned she is a fellow hooper, :) lives in St. Augustine & many other fun facts about her life!
While I accomplished the knit 2 pearl 2, we were instantly friends!
I love when life brings these unexpected gifts!
Make new friends but keep the old ones too!!

picture perfect 365 (2012)
Ok...
So im gonna do this project for 2012...
Anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome!
You know they say "the more, the merrier!" :)
This is gonna be a self-leaarning, self-development, fun project! Here's how it works.
Starting January 1, 2012, I, and whoever else that wants in on this, will take 1 picture a day for each day of the year.
..it can be a picture of anything but it has to be taken that day & journal about why you took it!
For example:
Take a picture of your favorite ice cream & journal that you & your best friend would go every saturday afternnon in the summer for a cool, refreshing treat!
I just feel this project will teach me so much about myself! What truly is important to me!
In learning about myself I hope to touch others! So whoever is on board start brain storming & get those cameras charged & ready!
Remember, this all starts the first of the year. I cant wait to see what is captured & to hear the reasoning behind it!

What It's All About (Mar 2011)
It's not about Gucci, Louis Vuitton, or BCBG on my feet
It's not about the coach sign on my handbag flashing everyone I pass on the street
I don't care about 3 or 5 karat diamonds weighin' down my finger
And I don't need a twenty room mansion or have to ask for directions to the washroom neither
It is about the deal
you can call a steal
and everyone thinks you spent a fortune
It's about the handbag on my shoulder
I found at a flea market but everyone wants one
The ring on my finger that cost much less than a "G"
came with a note that said "I Love You"
and thats priceless to me
The small comfy house thats so inviting is all I want
A place where I can sit and converse with my man on the porch-front
It's much more that the value of a dollar can buy, you see
It's the Memories, the Feelings, the Love
That make me, me.
