Hard Work/Dedication (2011)

Sunday morning i woke up at 3:55am to prepare for my 12 miles of "ROAD WORK".

For those of you who don't know, I'm training for a marathon in February & I like to call my runs

"ROAD WORK".

I have been running for a few years, but this year I've become much more serious about it.

Many of you may know, I am not a technology girl. I don't have an ipod or any musical device while I

run. I used to think of all negative stuff while running, such as: how much money i owe people, how

much i hate my job and so on.

Needless to say, that made for a long run mentally! So i switched it up.

I now do a whole lot of positive thinking while I run! I create jewelry in my head & when i get home i

already know what I need to make it. I also enjoy the beautiful nature & brainstorm about what I'm

gonna write next on this blog.

So as I was doing my 12 miles, the word that kept coming to mind were HARD WORK/

DEDICATION.

Now i know i must be dedicated to get up at the crazy hour of 4am to run, but i was focusing on other

dedicated people in my life.

My mom (the late Darnel Palmer) was a dedicated wife & mother. She was always teaching us

something even if we didn't know it. Her legacy is one of beauty & I'm so glad to be a part of it!

Now let's talk about her other half, my dad (Fred Palmer). If there are any words to describe a person,

HARD WORK/DEDICATION would definitely describe my dad! He always went to work on time &

gave 100%. Now that I'm grown, I really appreciate & understand the overtime hours & love my dad

put in to put food on the table, clothes on our backs, and the opportunity to go on some really fun

family vacations.

My dad is now retired from his full-time job, but he definitely didn't retire his HARD WORK &

DEDICATION! He is always there for anyone in need & willing to give a helping hand at a moments

notice!

So i say to you... Find something of interest, learn to love it, work hard at it & be dedicated!

NEVER QUIT! LOSING IS NOT AN OPTION!
